چکیده

Abstract Background Metastasectomy is probably underused in metastatic colorectal cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect centralized repeated assessment on resectability rate liver metastases. Methods prospective RAXO a nationwide Finland. Patients with treatable cancer at any site were eligible. This planned substudy included patients baseline metastases between 2012 and 2018. Resectability reassessed by multidisciplinary team Helsinki tertiary referral centre upfront twice during first-line systemic therapy. Outcomes rates, management changes, survival. Results Of 812 included, 301 (37.1 per cent) had liver-only these, tumours categorized as resectable 161 (53.5 cent), became amenable surgery treatment 63 (20.9 cent). Some 207 (68.7 eventually underwent resection or ablation. At baseline, discrepancy central local judgement noted for 102 (33.9 Median disease-free survival (DFS) after first 20 months overall (OS) 79 months. OS diagnosis 80, 32, 21 R0–1 resection, R2/ablation, non-resected groups, 5-year rates 68, 37, 9 cent, respectively. Liver extrahepatic present 511 patients. 72 (14.1 resectable, 53 (10.4 eligible surgery. Eventually 110 (21.5 116 (22.7 DFS from 7 median 55 79, 42, 17 65, 39, 2 Conclusion Repeated improved rates.

Expanding criteria for resectability of colorectal liver metastases.

Surgical resection is the treatment of choice in patients with colorectal liver metastases, with 5-year survival rates reported in the range of 40%-58%. Over the past 10 years, there has been an impetus to expand the criteria for defining resectability for patients with colorectal metastases. In the past, such features as the number of metastases (three to four), the size of the tumor lesion, a...
